Information Technology Generalist 2

The Pennsylvania Game Commission, Technology Services Division is seeking an Information Technology Generalist 2 to join our dedicated team. This position works under the direction of the Chief, Network Infrastructure Section as one of the agency's Information Technology (IT) Specialists. The primary job function of the Information Technology Generalist 2 will be to service the PC and network needs in Harrisburg and the Southeastern part of the state; however, the secondary job function is to support the rest of the agency's regional offices and game lands. You will be responsible for configuring, installing, and providing support for PGC's Utility Mobile Access Platform (Rocket) in support of the agency's Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. You will have the opportunity to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and communication issues. Work includes providing remote technical guidance to Game Wardens to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Wireless Access Point/router (Rocket) network performance problems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 7:45 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1; or
• Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
• Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
• A bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit.
