As the supervisor of the Health Market Conduct Division, you will oversee and manage various activities such as staff assignments and training. You will handle personnel matters and administer examiners. Your role will also involve identifying market issues, non-compliance, and companies to monitor, as well as preparing correspondence for upcoming exams and ensuring thorough examination through data collection. Additionally, you will establish exam schedules, review examination reports, calculate penalties, and provide recommendations to higher authorities. 

In addition to the above, you will conduct exams, contribute to exam press releases, develop testing tools, conduct compliance guidance presentations, and hold conferences with examined companies. You will also evaluate proposed legislation, assist in creating regulations, and represent the Division/Bureau in meetings to address insurance issues and propose solutions. Lastly, you will exchange information with other states and the U.S. Department of Labor regarding enforcement activities related to mental health parity and addiction equity act. Your involvement will require regular attendance at meetings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to come into the office 1 day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
 Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as an Insurance Market Conduct Examiner 2; or
  • Five years of professional insurance market conduct examination experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Five years of professional insurance underwriting or investigation experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes four years of professional experience in market conduct examination or insurance underwriting or investigation.
