Community Action of Greater Indianapolis is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Energy Auditors to join our Housing/Weatherization team. In this crucial role, you will conduct energy audits and final inspections, maintain budget costs, and manage client documentation. Your work will directly contribute to maximizing energy savings for our clients and ensuring compliance with state mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Energy Audits and Inspections:
- Conduct thorough energy audits and final inspections for housing and weatherization programs.
- Assess homes for weatherization needs and submit detailed work orders.
- Client Documentation:
- Assemble and maintain client files, ensuring all necessary documentation is processed and up-to-date.
- Program Compliance:
- Utilize program resources, techniques, and personnel to achieve optimal energy savings for clients.
- Ensure adherence to the Indiana Weatherization Program Manual and state-mandated weatherization measures.
- Budget Management:
- Maintain and monitor budgets related to weatherization projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, co-workers, and management at various levels.
- Travel within and outside Marion County as needed for audits and inspections.
- Office and Administrative Tasks:
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, fax machines, and copiers.
- Perform a variety of tasks and functions simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of construction experience and two years of weatherization experience.
- Completion of Building Analysis Certification is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of basic construction and weatherization materials, equipment, and their purposes.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with people at various management levels.
- Administrative Skills:
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
Working Conditions:
This position involves working in a standard office environment as well as traveling to various client locations. Tasks require sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. The role also involves manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment and may require lifting up to 60 pounds. Normal hearing and vision capabilities are necessary.
