A Day in the Life as a CSFP Warehouse Assistant:
As a CSFP Warehouse Assistant, you’ll ensure availability and accessibility of Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) benefits to current and prospective participants, assist CSFP Warehouse Manager in warehouse duties, inventory control, receipt and distribution of food, and maintenance of caseload.

A Day in the Life as a CSFP Warehouse Assistant:
As a CSFP Warehouse Assistant, you’ll ensure availability and accessibility of Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) benefits to current and prospective participants, assist CSFP Warehouse Manager in warehouse duties, inventory control, receipt and distribution of food, and maintenance of caseload.
Your Day Will Involve
- Assisting with coordination of delivery, receipt and acceptance of orders and inventory of USDA Commodity Supplemental Food shipments.
- Assisting with ensuring that all aspects of the warehouse, including organization of food supplies, inventory, general cleanliness, and overall safety in compliance with City of Concord inspection rules.
- Assisting with the packaging of food items including the coordination of assembly line packing for storage and distribution, while preserving safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
- In collaboration with the Warehouse Manager assists with the daily distribution of food packages at the main warehouse or off-site tail gate distributions for this agency or other CSFP contract agencies.
- Operates program equipment including forklift and pallet jack in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications to Be a CSFP Warehouse Assistant:
To Excel In This Role, You’ll Need
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency credential.
- Experience: One year of experience working in a warehouse environment with inventory control duties. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and to accept direction. Ability to effectively operate all agency equipment including forklift, and pallet jack.
- Physical: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the Incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit for prolonged periods of time; repetitively use hands to key, handle, or feel, including operation of a standard computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms and talk, see and hear; and lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
