Grooming Specialist

We are a very busy and well established veterinary clinic in Powder Springs. We are looking for a reliable, talented groomer to add to our team of talented professionals. We have over 15 years of loyal clientele and new customers daily! Must have minimum of 2 years of experience. Our team is full of helpful individuals that will direct you all the way. No need to put in charges or get paperwork signed we have all that taken care of. We allow you to do what you like to do best Groom Pets.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Grooming:

• Able to do all breed and species(Canine and Feline) cuts for pet and show quality dogs and cats,
• Must be familiar with current styling and popular cuts.
• Experienced in grooming, sedation grooming, bathing animals, proper restraint techniques must also be comfortable grooming cats
• Perform baths, cuts, nail trims, nail grinds, ear cleaning and external anal gland expression, teeth brushing and
• Ability to communicate with clients in person and by phone.
• Read written or receive oral instructions from client to determine clipping pattern desired. Always calling and communicating with client.
• Ability to identify presence of fleas and/or ticks
• Must be able to recognize and alert medical staff of any possible medical concerns.
• Document grooming style, blades used, shampoo and general condition of pet on chart
• Label pets appropriately in cages
• Mark charges on whiteboard for clear communication on pets.
• Maintain professional, neat and clean work area.
• Maintain own blades, clippers and scissors
• Use proper lifting techniques when placing pet on grooming table and fit grooming collar on pet to hold animal to table
• Use proper restraint and techniques to calm animal
• Know sanitation requirements of clinic and for equipment.
• Client Communication
• Handle client calls about grooming questions
• Handle client complaints about grooming
• Provide grooming report card to receptionist after groom is done
• Attend all staff meetings if required to.

Closed every Saturday, Sunday availability.

• Experience in grooming, sedation grooming, bathing animals, proper restraint techniques must also be comfortable grooming cats.
• Able to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
• Endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods
• Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
• Take safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia and radiation

Compensation:

Contract agreement for 50-60% based on experience and availability 100% of all tips because you deserve each on that you receive.
