Responsibilities
The Retirement Plan Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering retirement plan education and financial wellness programs to plan participants. This role supports the overall engagement strategy by providing clear, accessible, and impactful guidance on retirement plan benefits, financial literacy, and savings strategies.

Experience / Skills
Hours: 25 hours/week
Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase. Responsibilities
The Retirement Plan Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering retirement plan education and financial wellness programs to plan participants. This role supports the overall engagement strategy by providing clear, accessible, and impactful guidance on retirement plan benefits, financial literacy, and savings strategies.
Essential Requirements
- Conduct group and one-on-one participant education meetings (in person or virtually), explaining retirement plan features, investment options, and distribution strategies.
- Design customized educational materials and campaigns based on plan demographics and employer goals.
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding plan rules, enrollment, contribution changes, rollovers, loans, and distributions.
- Partner with plan sponsors and advisors to schedule and promote educational sessions.
- Help participants understand investment risk, diversification, and long-term savings strategies.
- Stay current on retirement plan trends, regulatory changes, and IRS/DOL requirements.
- Monitor and report on participant engagement metrics and education outcomes.
- Support compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
Experience / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Education, or related field.
- 1 years of experience in retirement plan education, financial services, or employee benefits.
- Knowledge of 1081 Retirement Plans and other defined contribution plans.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
- Professional designations (QKA, CRPS, CPFA, CFP) a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed for onsite meetings and events.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
- Ability to explain complex financial topics in a clear and engaging manner.
- Comfortable using technology for virtual presentations (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
- Organizational and project management skills.
- Commitment to improving participant retirement readiness.
