Human Services Counseling Adjunct faculty are needed to teach on campus day, evening, weekend, remote synchronous, and/or online classes at the Community College of Baltimore County.  Adjunct faculty will be expected to facilitate learning via preparation and delivery of instruction, cooperation with College support staff in timely submission of materials and grades as required, and coordination of activities with the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator.  Adjunct faculty are selected based on program needs and subject matter expertise of the applicant.  Adjunct faculty are required to attend department meetings, participate in professional development related to classroom instruction and pedagogy, be available to students outside of class, and assist in maintaining program accreditation.

Adjunct Level 1 - $1,050 per credit hour.
 
 Campus Locations: Catonsville, Essex, Dundalk 

Applicants must complete application and submit a resume or CV, and a cover letter highlighting relevant experience and course interest.Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, Social Work, or related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in one or more human services counseling setting 
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge. 
Preferred Requirements
  • Certification or Licensure in Drug and Alcohol Counseling
  • Prior online and/or remote synchronous college teaching experience.
  • Experience using classroom technology and learning management systems
Two (2) years teaching experience, college teaching experience
  1. Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator.
  2. Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
  3. Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  4. Adheres to the scheduled time of class.
  5. Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies.
  6. Ensures that program specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner.
  7. Assure that assessment/evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives.
  8. Monitors student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students.
