Center Aide- Oxford County
Our Children's Services Head Start program has an opening for a Center Aide in Oxford County. The Center Aide will travel to various locations based on need, helps create a healthy, safe, and fun learning environment for preschoolers, toddlers, and infants. The Center Aide works as part of a teaching team providing support to meet children's social, emotional, and physical, maintain. This position may be responsible for maintaining records, observations, and data on individual children. Other duties include sharing the responsibility for the proper care and cleanliness of the center. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible, comfortable traveling to various classrooms and locations in Oxford County, and can adjust quickly to changes in schedule. The position is for 30 hours per week, 50 weeks per year.
To Qualify: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; experience working with young children required. Completing Head Start Substitute Teacher Training or being enrolled in or completed an Early Childhood study is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; Must have basic computer skills and knowledge; considerable stamina is needed to bend, lift, carry, etc. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. A pre-employment physical, Covid vaccination or employer-verified exemption, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry, fingerprinting, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire as a condition of employment.
