Based in Fall River, MA, as a* Wheelchair Van Driver*, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and freedom of movement for individuals with disabilities while enjoying the freedom of having free time between split shifts, allowing you to spend quality moments with your family and friends. Your high energy and friendly nature will be put to good use as you meet new people and create positive connections while driving.
Your mission will be to provide reliable transportation services, granting them access to the community and promoting their independence. By joining Community Connections, you'll actively contribute to enriching the lives of people with disabilities.
What You'll Do as a Wheelchair Van Driver:
- Ensure the safe daily transportation of individuals on route
- Assist individuals entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
- Provide curb to curb service in a professional, safe and courteous manner
- Conduct and document vehicle safety check prior to each route
- Monitor the behavior and/or medical condition of individuals with disabilities during daily transport
- Report and record all incidents to the Transportation Manager
What You'll Need as a Wheelchair Van Driver:
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- 2 years as a licensed driver
- Ability to assist individuals in and out of vehicles
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen required
