Description
Function: This position coordinates activities related to volunteers, clients, and staff working on food distribution and community interaction for the Community Food Bank (CFB). The weekly schedule of GGRC can be variable with some weekend or evening work taking place up to twice per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Trains, coordinates, and oversees volunteers ensuring they work within the parameters of commodity program policy and procedure and CFB’s core values.
- Ensures a welcoming, dignified, and respectful experience and environment for clients, volunteers, and staff that aligns with workplace safety rules and CFB’s core values.
- Delivers client-facing services and performs program duties in compliance with CFB and DES program guidelines. Program duties include inventory control, periodic compliance checks, and records maintenance.
- In an ongoing manner, uses your experience and perspective to suggest or make improvements to GGRC programming, volunteer coordination, and overall customer service approach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of training, coordinating and overseeing volunteers.
- Skills in communicating, listening, and public relations.
- Ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms.
- For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work – ability to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
