What you’ll be doing
Produce team members assist with ordering, receiving, stocking and display of produce, maintains department cleanliness, and provides excellent customer service to customers/members, coworkers, and vendors.
Produce team members report the Produce Department Managers.
Location & Commitments
· Cordata Store, 317 Westerly Rd Bellingham, WA
· Full-time, Non-Exempt
· Starting pay is $15/hr (range is $15-$19.58)
· Hours and days vary, morning, evening, and weekend shifts will be assigned
· Schedules are posted at least 2 weeks in advance
What you’ll be responsible for
· Providing friendly and welcoming customer service
· Awareness of all promotions and advertisements
· Merchandising the department to enhance shopping experience and maximize sales, including proper pricing and signage.
· Stocking, rotating, and facing product according to department procedure
· Maintaining back-stock areas according to department standards
· Receiving product and ensuring invoice accuracy
· May place orders as directed by the department managers
· Cataloguing and coding invoices, separating special orders, updating and files paperwork
· Ensuring department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
· Performing other duties as needed and assigned
Requirements
What skills are needed
· Ability to provide friendly face-to-face customer service in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to learn about Produce products
· Interest and ability to gain knowledge of natural and organic industry
· Attention to detail and multitasking skills
· Ability to speak and comprehend English well, multi-lingual is great
· Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical requirements (with or without accommodation)
· Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to: paging, telephones, human voices, music, and machinery.
· Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, pushing/pulling carts, repetitive motion, keyboarding, and lifting 10-50lbs regularly.
· Ability to operate all equipment such as pallet jacks, walkie, baler, and forklift.
· Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezers, outdoors, etc.)
· Ability to climb ladders occasionally
