CHC is seeking a qualified RN Clinical Manager to work in our Primary care medical office located at New Kensington, PA
I. NATURE OF POSITON:
Under general supervision, the Clinical Manager (CM) is both a medical and health services manager, who manages in both administrative and medical capacities to ensure the establishment runs smoothly and for the quality and continuity of patient care. The function of the CM is to develop and maintain an environment that supports the clinical staff.
II. QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the state.
B. Must have graduated from an approved nursing program and have passed a national licensing examination.
C. Experience in the clinical field as well as administrative/management areas.
D. Interest and /or experience in collaboration with interdisciplinary health teams.
E. Possesses medical/clinical/administrative skills at a high level of competency
III. RESPONSIBILITIES, SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS REGARDING PATIENT CARE, SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AS CLINICAL MANAGER:

A. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing within clinical aspect of patient care.
2. Participates in clinical nursing/medical assistant employee selection through interviewing and the hiring process.
3. Directs clinical nursing/medical assistant personnel according to office philosophy and objectives.
4. Is a role model and resource person guiding clinical nursing/medical assistant staff in development and capabilities.
5. Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
6. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
B. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS REGARDING PATIENT CARE:
1. Initial patient assessments as necessary.
2. Assisting with office procedures as necessary.
3. Telephone triage of patients with complaints /signs/symptoms of sickness or injury.
4. Patient education, i.e., Diabetic teaching, insulin injections, etc.
5. Follows up on new patient instructions as directed by Physician based on results of lab work and/or test results. I.e., calls patient with new instructions or by sending letter as needed, calls new medications to pharmacy,
6. Submits for Prior Authorizations of MD advised testing and/or prescribed medication for patients who require prior authorization.
7. Manage medication received for samples from pharmaceutical companies and prescription medications delivered to the clinic for patient pick up.
C. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AS CLINICAL MANAGER:
1. Management of the clinical nursing/medical assistant staff.
2. Heading the Quality Assurance (QIQA) Committee.
3. (Include) Risk Management activities as part of the QI/QA process, with directions from the Medical Director.
4. Is in charge of creating clinical policies, procedures, and objectives and implementing strategies to efficiently carry them out.
5. Works closely with other health professionals like administrators, physicians, medical assistants, and other staff to coordinate activities.
D. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AS A RISK MANAGER
1. Walk through facility to observe and seek input from staff to assess risk.
2. Recommend and organize staff training program that will mitigate risk.
3. Maintain and manage all incident reports and peer review process.
4. Work with physician on identifying potential areas of risk with patient care.
5. Work with Behavioral Health and Medical care coordination team to manage high risk patients.
6. Present risk management report to the Board on a quarterly basis
E. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS UNDER QUALITY IMPROVEMEBNT AND QUALITY ASSESSMENT PROGAM
1. Board approved QI/QA program will be monitored and reported at monthly Board meetings.
2. With directions and guidance from the Medical Director, outcomes and trends will be analyzed; goals will be revised as projected outcomes and targets are achieved.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $68,500.00 per year
