What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Community Health Clinic, Inc.?
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications. Ownership of the Relias administrative function with quarterly reporting to Ex. Director.
- Works closely with Office Manager to accumulate credentialing of Providers (new and existing) and remits on a timely basis to all insurance payers to maximize reimbursement.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Maintains a current file of potential hires for high turnover positions.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Manages the annual benefit enrollment process by timely meeting with insurance broker to assist management in selection of benefit plans. Distributes enrollment collateral to eligible staff and assists in explaining benefits.
- Processes payroll on a biweekly basis, ensuring that employee punches are current and accurate.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Works with department heads to ensure that policies & procedures manual is updated, consistent and follows guidelines issued by HRSA, DOL and other regulating agencies.
- Develops contacts in the local FQHC area and obtains information on HR-related topics (staffing, compensation, benefits, training) in order to share best practices and benchmark CHC against the group. Provides report at least annually to Ex Director.
- HRCI or SHRM Certificate preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
