What You Will Do
The LPN is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of CHDC.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Assists Physicians, PA-C’s and CRNP’s with patient assessment, examinations, and treatments.
- Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
- Thoroughly educates and explains procedures to patients and family members and assists them in coping with illnesses.
- Provides nursing services including medications and injections to patients as directed by the providers; immunizations; referrals to other providers and community health resources; and health instruction to patients or following examinations.
- Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the physician.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the center.
- Performs basic medical procedures to be performed under the supervision of a clinician or provider, e.g., lab draws, dressing changes, immunizations, medication injections/administration.
- Administers medications, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Sets up for various procedures and assists physicians with procedures.
- Maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing asepsis techniques and all other federal mandates, i.e., OSHA, CLIA, etc.
- Performs CLIA waived tests and EKGs within the practice.
- Obtains specimens (i.e., throat, urine, stool, wound, sputum, and other body fluids), using proper technique, and following policy and procedure for labeling.
- Route’s billing information as appropriate.
- Attends required in-service training (e.g., CPR, Safety, and Infection Control).
- Aids in identifying methods of improving patient care.
- Maintains continuing education units.
- Demonstrates a positive customer service attitude/behavior.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, and Knowledge
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania LPN license
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Able to relate appropriately to, communicate effectively with, and develop trusting relationships with diverse patient population and with staff.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical practice.
Salary : $58,000 - $60,000
