Location: Homestead, PA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Salary: $15.11 and up per hour, based on experience
Summary of Job Duties: The Activities Assistant assists the Recreational Therapist or Activities Coordinator in the planning, organization, coordination and implementation of therapeutic activities. Work duties vary on a day-to-day basis and a flexible work schedule is required. The Activities Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan care for and provide service to frail elders according to assigned responsibilities and Community LIFE standards.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent with the willingness to continue with credit and non-credit classes to advance and enhance skills.
Required Experience: One year experience with the frail or elderly. Highly preferred one year experience providing activities in a social setting; or a combination of education and activities experience.

- Ability / knowledge to take on leadership role in the absence of Activities Coordinator or Rec Therapist.
- Ability to appreciate an enjoy working with elderly individuals.
- Interest in geriatrics and community-based programming.
