Upper School Math Teacher

Community School of Naples (CSN), an independent, college preparatory school in Southwest Florida, is currently seeking a motivated and talented Upper School (grades 9-12) Math Teacher, beginning August 2024. This full-time position would teach five classes per day, with the average class size of approximately 14-16 students. While the specific classes can vary based on a candidate’s skillset, preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Geometry, Statistics, and AP Statistics. Other responsibilities will include serving as an advisor to 12 students and supporting CSN’s competitive math team.

The Upper School endeavors to cultivate in its students the ability to think critically and constructively, and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately their ideas, thoughts, and results. As an Upper School teacher at CSN, this individual should demonstrate a passion and expertise in the teaching of math and a willingness to develop a vibrant, challenging curriculum that allows students to engage in learning through research and experimentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of teaching experience required.
• To support our STEM Scholars and AP Capstone initiatives, experience in teaching research or competing in math, engineering, and/or science fair competitions is a definite plus but is not required.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet important deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, high-stakes environment.
• Commitment to participating in professional organizations, conferences, subject-related competitions, etc.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is a full time, instructional position for the 2024-25 academic year, with a start date of August 7, 2024. The position is paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications.
