Teacher 3/Advocate - starting at $23.18 hr ($24.33 Bi-lingual, English/Spanish) DOE

Head Start provides free preschool education to children ages three to five years old in a nurturing learning environment that includes parents as important resources for their children's learning. We focus on the "whole child" and include the child's educational, health, family, and social needs as part of our program. Our Teacher 3/Advocates empower parents and staff as team members in a comprehensive approach to child development and self-sufficiency.

  • 35 hours per week M-F.

Minimum Requirements

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with an early childhood education major or related field; 28 early childhood education quarter credits or 19-semester credits that focus on children up to age five (5); or any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Bilingual English/Spanish and previous Head Start experience are highly preferred.

College transcripts must be provided at the time of application or before the job offer to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. In addition, they must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license, Food handler certification, First Aid and CPR certification, TB/Tuberculin test results, health verification form, and enrollment in the Oregon Child Care Division Criminal History Registry*.
