JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist DATE: 08/22/2023

REPORTING SUPERVISOR: Finance/Human Resources Director
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
PRIMARY ROLE: Provide support to the administrative team in areas of recruitment and personnel related issues, policy implementation, benefit coordination, unemployment and worker’s compensation claims, compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversight of recruiting, and onboarding. To include: o Coordinating job positions o Reviewing applicants o Interviewing and processing all pre-employment requirements o Orientation of new hires
- Consulting with supervisors regarding performance counseling, appraisals, and personnel related issues
- Conducting investigations for discrimination, harassment, and misconduct
- Training o Oversight of Relias - tracking new hire trainings and reoccurring trainings, Policies and Procedures (updating as needed) o Therap System Training o CSC Paymaster Training
- Overall management of the employee’s life cycle within the organization including oversight of employee personnel files
- Coordinating benefits for full-time employees. To include: o Enrollments and terminations o Changes to employee plans o Participation in the annual renewal process for insurances o Managing COBRA o Accrued time off o Provide recommendations to administrative team for enhanced benefits
- Annual review of personnel manual, policies, and procedures, updating as needed to remain in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Oversight, filing, and follow through on all FMLA or leave of absences documentation and unemployment and worker’s compensation claims, complying with federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversight and compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws regarding reporting and records retention
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or related field required. SHRM or HRCI certifications preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 years working as an HR Generalist, preferably in a non- profit setting.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong PC skills
- Required: Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities.
- Professional communication skills: excellent verbal and written skills, courteous telephone skills
- Good presentation skills and comfort with speaking in front of groups
- Initiative-taker, the ability to make recommendations for process improvements and to implement change
Job Type: Part-time
