Health Services Specialist/RN Position Concept:
The Health Services Specialist shall have the basic responsibility for the health care of program participants, the implementation of program participant health services.
Responsibilities of The Health Services Specialist/RN:
1. Implementing a participant health care education program.
2. Reviewing and maintaining participant medical records.
3. Performing participant intake assessments in the area of health.
4. Act as liaison with family physicians, dentists and other consultants in the health field including other community health agencies.
5. At the discretion of the Department Head, be assigned to specific participant service areas(s) and thereby be responsible for health needs assessments, development of service plans, implementation of service plans, documentation and records maintenance.
6. Submit necessary reports.
7. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Head.
8. Take part in any in-service training as offered by the agency and attend meetings as requested.
Position Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with New York State License. One year of experience preferred. Additional experience with the developmentally disabled is desired.
