CYS is seeking a Certified Parent Educator to join a team of dedicated professionals within Thurston and Lewis Counties. The certified Parent Educator implements the Parents as Teachers model, focusing on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being. They use the PAT Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways during home visits, virtual sessions, and telecommunication. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or three years of relevant experience, completion of PAT training, and a valid TB test. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus. Key responsibilities include recruitment, assessments, goal setting, personal visits, group connections, developmental screenings, and connecting families to resources. Continuous quality improvement and documentation are also essential tasks.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with starting pay from $21.94 to $23.19 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and engage families in the PAT program.
- Conduct initial and annual assessments with parents/guardians.
- Develop, monitor, and review goals with each family.
- Provide personal visits focused on parent-child interaction and family well-being.
- Facilitate group connections to build social connections and support child development.
- Complete child developmental screenings and health reviews.
- Connect families to resources and support transitions to other services.
- Maintain and submit all required documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field preferred. Three years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of education.
- Experience providing PAT services to families is preferred but not required.
- Completion of required PAT training upon hire.
- Valid TB test results within the previous 12 months.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
