Plan and organize a variety of recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercises, and social events.
Engage with residents to encourage participation and provide assistance as needed.
Adapt activities to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that fosters resident enjoyment and involvement.
Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate activities and ensure that all residents have access to engaging programs.
Document participation and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make improvements.
Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity areas and ensure that all materials are available and in good condition.
Provide individual support and encouragement to residents who may need additional assistance.
Qualifications of a Recreation Aide :
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in recreation, gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in a recreational or activities role, especially in a healthcare or senior care setting, is a plus.
