Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, mature and organized Dental Office Assistant to join our well respected dental practice. Dental insurance billing/claims processing, treatment coordination/presentation skills and all things A/R a plus. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our busy boutique dental practice, providing exceptional support to patients, team and doctors. This position requires a blend of administrative skills, front desk and dental insurance experience, with a focus on customer service and managing office tasks efficiently.
Duties
- Greet patients, check in, collect payment and ensure they are prepared for their appointments
- Answer phones, manage messages, communicate with patients and other providers regarding treatment and care
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensure consistently full schedule for the practice.
- Prepare charts and collaborate with team to manage patient flow, and support the smooth progression of patient care
- Assist with insurance verification, billing and A/R processes.
- Utilize Dentrix and Dexis to access and prepare supporting documentation for dental insurance claim submission.
- File paper charts and organize patient documents systematically for easy access.
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed, including correspondence with referring providers and other offices.
- Assist with financial arrangements, discuss payment options, and collect payments
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a front desk, treatment coordinator or administrative role within a dental or medical office is required.
- Dental insurance billing, A/R and excellent math skills are necessary
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix and Dexis is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing files and records.
- Knowledge of dental practice management and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Proficiency in typing and general computer skills is essential.
