Position Overview:
As a Project Estimator, you will be the first point of contact for customer quotes relayed through our sales team. You will play a critical role in analyzing and developing detailed project specifications. This role demands a keen eye for detail, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while ensuring customer expectations are not just met but exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer project and collaborate effectively with the sales team to understand project requirements.
- Develop detailed project specifications and create comprehensive estimate packages.
- Ensure all components of the order - such as purchasing of materials and supplies to be used in production - are accurately accounted for to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
- Work closely with the sales and structural teams to anticipate and address potential challenges.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changes and new information.
- Communicate effectively with team members and vendors, building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring estimates are completed on time and within budget.
- Handoff completed estimate packages to Project Coordinators for the continuation of the project process.
- Continuously update and refine estimating processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Project Estimator or in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or packaging.
- Considerable knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with little to no supervision.
- Knowledge of Amtech software is preferred, but not required.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task while managing the workflow of each customer project.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Previous experience in the corrugated box industry preferred.
