We have a full-time OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT opportunity available for an experienced ophthalmic assistant or technician, optometric technician, optician, medical assistant, certified MA, certified nursing assistant, or other experienced healthcare professional. We are looking for candidates who pride themselves in great attention to detail, excellent communication, and can work well within a team setting and face-paced environment.
You are a key player in our patients' care. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be working side by side with physicians, as well as other ophthalmic technicians and clinical staff members, to provide direct care within an Ophthalmology practice. Some of your duties would include:
- Escorting patients to exam rooms
- Reviewing health history and present illness concerns
- Performing preliminary vision tests and assessments
- Preparing and assisting with minor procedures or other medical needs
- Triaging patient questions and clinic tasks
- Stocking supplies and ophthalmic medications

Qualifications
A successful candidate for Ophthalmic Assistant has the following:
- A high school diploma (college experience is excellent!)
- A committed work history that shows longevity and growth
- Experience in a fast-paced healthcare or medical office environment
- Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, clinic staff, physicians, and outside departmental staff
- Familiarly with Microsoft/computer software and the ability to learn electronic healthcare systems (NextGen and ModMed preferred)
- Use interpreter assistance device when needed
- Able to remain focused and organized
- Able to sit and stand with mobility for extended periods of time
- Knowledge in Ophthalmology theory and practice preferred, but not required
- An interest in self-education and career growth. This position is a healthcare career!
- Occasional travel time to a different clinic(s) when needed
Salary : $20 - $25
