School Nurse

TITLE:  School Nurse 7:45 - 2:45  QUALIFICATIONS:  Holds a license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (M.G.L. c.  71, s. 53) Holds or is eligible for licensure in School Nursing by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (after 1993 DOE regulation change). Has a minimum of two years of supervised nursing experience in community health or child health prior to entry in school nursing practice. Maintains certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, AED and First Aid. Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for number 4.  DUTIES:  To provide professional health srvices and coordinate the resources of the school, home and community as they pertain to the toal health of students and staff. OUR MISSION: Methuen Public Schools enrolls approximately 7000 in a total of five schools. Methuen Public Schools has four PK-8 schools: the Comprehensive Grammar School, the Marsh Grammar School, the Tenney Grammar School, the Timony Grammar School, and one comprehensive high school: Methuen High School. The performance of this job will be evaluated as per the CBA Massachusetts Nurses Association Contract.
