About the Role:
The medical biller performs various functions, including helping to foster smooth operations in the health organization where they work. The person should be able to multi-task, have strong communication skills.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide supervision and direction to ensure the office carries out its daily billing duties and maintains business efficiency.
- Monitor, guide, and ensure billing activities are conducted in a manner that maximizes accurate, timely filing of claims.
- Input insurance and accurate patient information into computer for billing purpose
- Collect daily payments (such as copay, balance, and deductible) and batch for billing department
- Ensure and uphold the confidentially requirements of all patient records and manage all daily task and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the offices’ policies and regulations regarding confidentiality and security.
- Interact positively with others in an office/service environment with excellent customer skills
- Actively engages with billing, front desk, and provider teams to optimize billing and collections practices across the organization.
- Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications always represent the organization in a highly professional manner.
- Uphold and ensure compliance with and attention to all CPC policies and procedures, as well as the mission and values of the organization.
- Review claims for accuracy and submit through billing system.
- Correct rejected, denied claims, and resubmit to insurance.
- Prepare, review and send patient statements
- Answer and resolve patient and provider billing calls, questions, and messages.
- Submit charges in a timely fashion.
- Collect co-pays and patient balances.
- Resolve patient billing complaints
- Answers questions from patients, doctors and insurance companies
- Send actions, telephone encounters to doctors, medical assistants if a correction is needed on a claim
- Send actions and telephone encounters to the front desk personnel if a correction is needed.
- Verify and post patient payments electronically and manually
- Maintains strict confidentially and adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook), and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Education/Experience (Minimum Requirements):
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have medical billing, insurance, and coding experience.
- Understand revenue cycle management.
- Have strong time management and organizational skills.
- Must have strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have strong trouble shooting skills.
- Must possess strong computer skills.
- Experience with eCW or similar EHR and medical billing certificate preferred.
Work Location: Rockville, MD/In person
Medical Clearance:
You must complete Comprehensive Primary Care’s medical clearance requirements, which include, but may not be limited to, evidence of Hepatitis B, Pneumococcal screen, and a Tuberculosis screen, or have an approved medical or religious accommodation that precludes you from being vaccinated against these diseases.

Salary : $19 - $21
