What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at COMPX SECURITY PRODUCTS?
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare parts for shipping to outside vendors (transaction and physical preparation).
- Load and unload packages from incoming trucks.
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.
- Ability to receive, pick/pull, and ship material via UPS, FedEx, etc.
- Deliver parts to respective areas in plant.
- Transfer material in/out of stockroom.
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, etc.)
- Perform cycle counts and transact material in ERP system.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Put away product/material.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Essential Skills and Experience:
- One-year stable work history.
- Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position.
- Experience in operating powered industrial trucks.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Self-starter, who can plan, prioritizes, manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experienced working with computers and handling paperwork.
- Understands and practices Quality System Requirements and documentation (e.g. applicable inspection, verification and disposition procedures, and/or instructions and forms required as part of the process).
- ERP system knowledge.
- Basic math and reading skills are required.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
