What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at Comtello?

We have a 1-year hybrid Business Analyst contract at our client offices in Jackson, Mississippi. The anticipated start is March 15, 2024, through March 14, 2025, and it may be extended by our client.

This is a hybrid assignment. Our client requires that work be carried out onsite 1 week per month and remote for 3 weeks per month. Do not apply for this assignment unless you are willing to fully commit to this continued working arrangement. Onsite work will be carried out in Jackson, Mississippi. If the Business Analyst asks for alternate working arrangements in the interview they may be immediately disqualified. If alternate working arrangements are asked for after the Business Analyst starts work, they may immediately be released from the contract.

Task Summary

  • Collaborate with our clients' functional leads and SMEs to understand, index, and document future-state Business Processes using industry-standard notations (e.g., BPMN).
  • Build Methods and Procedures Documentation for specific tasks within a business process where step-by-step instructions are required.
  • Analyze future-state workflows for improvement and optimization opportunities.
  • Evaluate solution design in MS Dynamics 365 and integration to core platform for process efficiencies for finance / accounting including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting.
  • Work closely with our client and vendor project teams (Development, OCM, Testing, Training, etc.) to ensure that Business Process documentation aligns with project objectives and timelines.
  • Provide expertise in process mapping, modeling techniques, and best practices transition knowledge and documentation to our client at the close of the project.
  • Conduct workshops and interviews where required to address potential gaps in future-state Business Process and/or Methods & Procedures documentation.
  • Support the implementation of process improvements by providing guidance and documentation to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage project "open items" pertaining to Business Process and/or Methods and Procedures to closure leveraging Business Process Flows and Methods and Procedures documents of record.
  • Manage interim process design and maintenance where temporary alterations in a standard Business Process may be required to manage anticipated system downtime or workarounds for production defects.
  • Maintain Business Process and Methods and Procedures documents of record for the project team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Process Modeler or similar role.
  • MS Dynamics 365 functional or backend experience including solution design, data model experience, process optimization, and workflow analysis.
  • Proficiency in using business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, or dedicated BPM tools).
  • Strong understanding of business process modeling notations, particularly BPMN.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, CMMI) is preferred.
  • State Government experience and specific experience in DHS or Child Welfare domains is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality deliverables.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working on child welfare projects.

  • Must have current work authorization for the United States.
  • Must be a direct hire.
  • Must commit to the required working arrangement, working 1 week per month onsite and remote for 3 weeks per month, for the duration of this assignment.
