Product Development Process Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

• Setup and operate product development equipment to produce development products following written protocols and parameter sheets.
• Troubleshoot the process when required to improve product attributes and provide input to the Product Development Manager
• Troubleshoot the process equipment and perform minor corrective and preventative maintenance on the equipment.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Development Equipment Setup

· Perform equipment setup for all development builds.

· Read, comprehend and critique product development protocols and parameter sheets

· Understand all process variables on the equipment.

• Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery as instructed in the setup protocol.

Development Equipment Operation

· Run development product following all requirements in written protocols.

· Understand product quality requirements and ensure they are met during operation.

• Troubleshoot the process or equipment and make necessary adjustments to maintain the highest product quality. Document any changes in the written protocol.

· Ability to make adjustments as required to ensure highest level of product quality.

· Perform process experimentation with limited direction and record process results and parameters.

• Perform QA, In Process, and Final testing as instructed in DB Traveler.
• Analyze test results, machine error messages and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
• Train new operators on how to run the equipment and demonstrate equipment functions and features.

Development Equipment Troubleshooting and Maintenance

• Perform minor repairs and maintain the operating condition of machinery and equipment.
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose processing malfunctions.
• Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance (P.M.) such as cleaning, lubricating or adjusting parts on product development equipment.
• Record repairs and maintenance performed in Equipment History and P.M. Logs.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and notify Product Development Manager of the need to order new parts and or materials as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
• Some overtime may be required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: A minimum ofHigh School Graduation or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Experience: Two to four years related experience preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
