Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Trouble shoots electrical, and/or mechanical problems and performs repairs
• Fabricates parts to repair machines
• Assists with installation of machines and power systems
• Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math, use measuring instruments (including but not limited to a tape measure, check gauge, digital/dial caliper, etc.) and follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment
• Must possess one or more of the following abilities:

Ability to follow complicated electrical schematics, drawings and perform major electrical upgrades, including machine rebuilds, service upgrades and facility electrical maintenance

Ability to machine parts for machine repair and upgrades. Must be able to fabricate parts from blueprints and from existing broken parts using an engine lathe, milling machine, surface grinder and welding and fabrication

Ability to complete major fabrication projects using a welder, iron worker, engine lathe, milling machine and other associated equipment to produce specialize equipment, guards, machine rebuilds, dust collection installs and welding of dust collection piping

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to walk for approximately 1-3 hours throughout an average workday
• Requires frequent bending and twisting.
• Requires repetitive use of fingers, hands, arms, shoulders, back, legs, knees and feet.
• Must be able to work in an environment where there is exposure to dirt, dust, noise, heat, and cold. Occasionally exposed to hazardous materials.
• Must wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Must be able to work overtime as required, up to 12 hours per day, six days per week.
