Help Wanted: Apprentice Canine Handler for Team K9
Team K9, a leading provider of professional canine services, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate individual to join our team as an Apprentice Canine Handler. Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced handlers with daily canine care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
- Learn and practice basic dog handling techniques, including leash handling, obedience training, and behavior management.
- Assist with daily training and conditioning of our canine team members for various tasks, including detection, tracking, and protection work.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment for both canines and human team members.
- Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in canine handling and training.
- Attend and support Team K9 at local events and competitions as needed.
- Assist in administrative tasks, such as record keeping, scheduling, and inventory management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably dogs, is a plus but not required.
- A strong passion for and commitment to the welfare and proper care of canines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well under supervision.
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, as well as work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Availability to work weekends and occasional evenings as needed.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
