Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Editor to join our team on a full- or part-time basis (opportunity to work 30 hours per week). This position will primarily edit a variety of technical documents reviewing for grammatical correctness and consistency in style and format, according to Confluence’s Style Guide. Additionally, this position will support our marketing and proposal efforts. Key Responsibilities:
- 80% of Role – Edit a variety of technical reports for grammatical correctness and consistency in style and format, according to Confluence’s Style Guide.
- Assist staff with MS Word formatting challenges.
- Lead the Style Council to update standards as needed.
- Develop, update, and maintain company templates.
- Provide editorial support and act as backup to our Proposal Manager in proposal preparation.
- Manage the company’s website, e-news, and social media presence.
- Draft and disseminate press releases for staff announcement and other company news.
- Assist in onboarding new staff and familiarizing them with Confluence QA/QC, templates, style, formatting, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in editing.
- Experience in environmental consulting industry or related field (e.g., architecture, engineering, construction) preferred.
- Very strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Strong writing/editing skills and enthusiasm for writing.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys interacting with colleagues, clients, and business partners.
- Ability to work equally well both independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred: Website design (e.g., WordPress) and social media experience.
