Regional Safety Representative

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Gibbsboro NJ

Reports To: Regional Safety Manager

Compensation: Salaried Exempt

Classification:

Travel: up to 50% regional travel

POSITION SUMMARYThe Regional Safety Representative’s primary responsibility is to serve as a mentor and coach to everyone on the jobsite and to spread the LeChase safety message to the field so that everyone understands our mission, to provide an environment that promotes/drives a safety mindset at work, at home, in your head and in your heart. Jobsite inspections will always be a part of the RSR’s function to identify and eliminate hazards, but it is important that the role be viewed as a resource to project teams.

RESPONSIBILITES

1. Assist in the preparation of the Hazard Identification Document.

2. Assist with preparation of Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP) for LeChase when self-performing and review the plans prepared by subcontractors.

3. Participate in safety kickoff meeting for each assigned project.

4. Inspect jobsite to determine conformance to safety plans. See that plans reflect changes in field conditions and are updated accordingly. Audit jobsite to identify any other potential safety hazards.

5. Provide feedback to superintendent/foreman. Work with field personnel to correct any deficiencies.

6. Engage workers in constructive coaching sessions utilizing the Safetracks process such that workforce will gain sufficient knowledge of Safetracks to perform them on each other.

7. Accompany OSHA representatives during their inspections.

8. Conduct field investigations when incidents or near misses occur and document those investigations. Coordinates follow up incident review meetings.

9. Provide orientation of new employees on LeChase safety processes and procedures.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education/Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent education required. College degree in Environmental, Safety and Health or related field strongly preferred.

· 5 years of experience in construction or relevant field strongly preferred.

· Minimum of OSHA 30 training required.

· OSHA 500 Certified Safety Professional & CHST preferred.

2. Skills/Competencies:

· General familiarization with a typical construction jobsite and the activities associated therein.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Appropriate knowledge of OSHA requirements for construction.

· Positive attitude, professional appearance, and ability to work as a team member, communication with others, and share responsibility to work towards common goals.

· Ability to educate our workers and subcontractors on safety matters.

· Provide good record of observations/activities from jobsite visits such that the data can be compiled with all other jobsite locations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision and balance abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, speak, and hear, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
