Description
The Connecticut Senate Republican Caucus is seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented Multimedia Content Producer to join our Communications Team! This role will support our mission of communicating with the public through compelling, timely, and visually engaging digital content. The Multimedia Content Producer is responsible for creating multimedia assets, including video, photography, graphics, and high-quality social media content that highlights the work and priorities of our Senate Republican Caucus and legislators.
This role combines creativity, technical skill, and a strong understanding of public policy and government communications to elevate the Caucus and Senators' visibility and public engagement across a variety of multimedia platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for design and storytelling, is aware of social media trends and can proactively identify and capitalize on emerging trends, and is passionate about civic engagement.
Example of Duties
- Produce high-quality videos, reels, and short-form digital content for social media, the SRO website, and e-blasts.
- Assist in capturing and editing photo and video content from press conferences, public hearings, district events throughout Connecticut, and the Legislative Session.
- Clip Senators’ audio and video clips as needed and upload content to the appropriate platforms.
- Design branded graphics as needed (social posts, infographics, flyers, and more) that align with Caucus messaging and style guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Communications Director and team to develop multimedia strategies that amplify Caucus initiatives, individual Senators' messaging, policy positions, and legislative accomplishments.
- Proactively pitch and storyboard new content ideas that resonate with Connecticut constituents and reinforce the Caucus and Senator's priorities.
- Assist with daily management and scheduling of multimedia content across social media channels as needed.
- Serve as on-site media coverage for Caucus events, including district visits, Capitol pressers, and tours.
- Maintain an organized library of multimedia assets for internal use.
- Uphold brand consistency across all digital and visual materials.
Typical Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, multimedia production, public relations, journalism, political science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of related experience (communication, multimedia production, government affairs, fast-paced political environments, and/or campaigns).
- Experience with videography, photography, and graphic design.
- Experience filming with a DSLR camera and external audio gear.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Canva, Cap Cut, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and current digital trends.
- Proficiency in using website platforms, such as WordPress.
- Familiarity with livestreaming tools and graphic animation is a plus.
- Knowledge of Connecticut politics and the legislative process.
- Excellent visual storytelling, video editing, and design skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Senators, the Communications Team, and other departments.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to events and work off-hours for the Legislative Session and accommodate relevant press conferences across the state.

- The legislative schedule can be unpredictable, necessitating occasional late nights, work on the weekends, occasional travel, and tight deadlines.
