Connecticut Orthopaedics is a growing healthcare practice based in the greater New Haven community with a strong commitment to providing excellent care and customer service to our patients, athletes and employer clients. We are seeking an experienced PA who can read x-rays and manage acute injuries in our Orthopedic Urgent Care. In addition, there is the opportunity for first assisting in our ambulatory surgical center. This position offers a competitive salary and a flexible work-life balance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coverage in our acute orthopaedic walk-in clinics
- Evaluate, treat and triage adult and pediatric patients as appropriate
- Provide coverage primarily in our new Wallingford location or one of our other three sites Branford, Hamden, Orange
- Operate and prove competency in multiple applications such as EMR and ancillary products
- Communicate with orthopaedic physicians regarding care plans
- Primary clinical hours on Monday – Friday evenings
- Provide clinical coverage one weekend per month
- Participate in office call
- Serve as a team leader during shift, supervising front desk and radiology staff on location
- Attend meetings, trainings as needed
- Demonstrate willingness to be flexible
Requirements:
- License to perform medical care as a Physician Assistant or APRN in the State of Connecticut
- 1 year experience in Orthopaedic care
- 1 year experience in the operating room assisting in orthopaedic procedures prefered
- Self-motivated and accountable to manage/direct patient care regardless of magnitude of injury
- Solid time management and organizational skills to efficiently treat in a high-volume clinic
- Passionate in self-improvement for professional growth to meet the values of our practice and enhance our level of service
- Excellent communication skills to ensure all team members, patients and external parties are fully informed
- Strong written communication skills for chart documentation and interaction with team members
- Ability to provide knowledge transfer to other members of the team
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of colleagues and employees
