Position Summary
We are seeking a Accounts Payable supervisor to join our accounting team and support the organization’s financial operations. This role plays an important part in ensuring compliance with GAAP, managing daily transactions, and providing timely reporting that supports leadership decision-making. The Accounts Payable supervisor will work closely with a friendly and professional CFO/COO and collaborate within a small, supportive finance team. This is a full-time position based in Honolulu with flexible scheduling options within normal business hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and deposit accounts receivables.
- Review, process, and pay invoices and monthly obligations.
- Monitor expenses for proper classification and documentation.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank, credit, and investment accounts.
- Maintain prepaid account.
- Maintain and replenish petty cash account.
- Conduct daily banking activities.
- Reconcile all bank and credit accounts.
- Assist with management of employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement.
- Assist with preparation for annual financial audit and other program audits.
- Post and balance entries to general ledger.
- Prepare 1099s and other tax-related forms.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a diverse environment.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday during regular business hours
- Weekend hours may be required as business needs dictate
- Position is 100% on-site
