Paralegal:

The Paralegal is responsible for providing legal and operational support to the Legal Department of an ENR top 100 construction company, working directly with the Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and Deputy General Counsel.

Your role as a member of the legal team will involve supporting the legal function, including building and/or managing organizational and operational processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, reviewing, preparing, and editing contracts, assessing compliance requirements, performing document management, legal research, and litigation support, drafting correspondence and legal documents, monitoring external counsel billing, fact-gathering, preparing corporate fillings and registrations, opening and closing files for a diverse range of legal matters, and assisting with general legal department operations. The role requires an organized, meticulous, and highly efficient self-starter with great interpersonal and problem-solving skills who can work minimal supervision, while demonstrating the ability to issue spot and exercise good judgment and discretion.


Required Skills
  • Assist the Legal Department in managing the corporate claims program by providing pre‐litigation and litigation support, performing legal research, investigating claims, preparing and/or reviewing discovery, drafting correspondence, and generally maintaining claim files.
  • Manage process for review and response to requested edits to some of our standard contracts such as subcontract, material purchase agreements, NDAs, leases, licenses, etc.
  • Manage discovery and document control activities related to pending litigation and administrative proceedings to which the company is a party or witness.
  • Primary liaison to the Accounting Department to manage entity maintenance and other corporate secretarial functions for all Consigli Building Group legal entities.
  • Help manage the Legal Department by participating in internal team meetings, assisting in dividing workshare, and monitoring progress on the Legal Department Operations Plan.
  • Develop content associated with the Legal Department’s presence on the Consigli Intranet, including the forms library, topical legal memos, training PowerPoints, and other useful content.
  • Participate in Legal Department training efforts by developing, conducting, and/or editing PowerPoint presentations and other training-related materials.
  • Assist with improving processes, developing playbooks, trainings, and automation across contract and other legal management matters.
  • Manage additional projects, on an as-needed basis, including compliance and ethics.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a paralegal, contract administrator, legal operations manager, law clerk, or comparable.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of administration of business processes and coordinating contract and legal matter management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, concise, and focused communication and legal and analytical memoranda.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, business operations, and/or employment law is preferred.
  • Superior capabilities with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Prior experience working directly with department leaders.
  • Good judgment and high integrity.
  • Comfortable operating under pressure/with sense of urgency, with the ability to communicate and develop sound solutions to crisis situations.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills which demonstrate an ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities, deadlines, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Flexible, self‐motivated individual who can work both independently with minimal supervision and as a part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedicated and hard working with a commitment to quality and team work.

Salary : $65,900 - $83,400
