Job Summary:
Constructors, Inc.is looking for a highly motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a hard worker and reliable.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Assist shop mechanics with daily tasks.
Drive company vehicle to pick up and deliver shop parts.
Clean and maintain maintenance facilities and areas according to established company standards.
Meet the obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act. Adhere to safety standards established by the company.
Organize both the shop and shop yard on a regular basis.
Detail and wash company equipment.
Operate a fork lift around the shop and shop yard.
Must observe and practice safety standards and policies of the department.
Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements and Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to become forklift certified in a reasonable period of time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company program.
- Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule.

Employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
This is a physically demanding job that regularly requires the employee to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
The employee must be able to pull or lift heavy boxes about ranging from 50 to 100 pounds to waist height.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment while performing the job.
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.
This is a non-smoking campus and facility.
Condition of Employment:
Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with fit for employment screening (if required) are required as conditions of employment.
