Title: Hardware Engineering Manager

Position Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time, Hybrid
Salary: $150,000-$190,000
We're looking for an Hardware Engineering Manager for our technology team. This role involves leading a team alongside directors and overseeing the design, build, test, and operation of cutting-edge spacecraft technology. You'll work closely with hardware, software, and product teams, as well as senior staff, to drive technological advancements and foster engineer development. You'll report directly to the Vice President.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the Space Hardware team, focusing on professional growth, career planning, and technical development. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
- Project & Team Management: Oversee workload, assignments, and conflict resolution. Collaborate with project, product, and technical leads to ensure high-quality execution.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to boost efficiency. Utilize agile practices for sprint planning, tracking, and performance management.
- Compliance & Coordination: Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies. Represent team needs in technical meetings and work with architects on solutions. Interface with the VP, Space Systems for departmental coordination and reporting.
- Hiring & Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage in headcount planning, hiring, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet team and project needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years in management postions
- 3 years in project management
- 3 years of hardware engineering experience
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and agile practices (e.g., Jira, Scrum, SAFe)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Desired Qualifications:
- 10 years in management
- 5 years in project management
- 5 years of hardware engineering experience
- Expertise in Jira for hardware engineering
- Engineering degree or related STEM field
- Certifications: PMP, CAPM, CSM
Compenation and Benefits:
- $150,000-$190,000 Base Salary (Please note this number ultimately commes down to experience and technical skill set)
