What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Membership Development position at Consumer Technology Association?
Basic Function of the Position:
To contribute to the growth and retention of Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Membership.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain new member tracking using various management application solutions.
- Review, approve and process new member applications.
- Implement new member updates and invoicing.
- Tracking recruitment progress and other spreadsheet tracking reports.
- Provide project management support in managing our Association Management Software vendor relationship.
- Assist with pulling membership reports and data integrity projects.
- Address member inquiries and provide exceptional customer service to prospects and members via communications including phone, email, face-to-face meetings, mailings and web.
- Assist with the new member onboarding including new member outreach and engagement opportunities.
- Support the administration of exhibiting member benefits.
- Support Membership team by performing audits of the CES Exhibitor and Wait Lists to identify member prospects, confirm member status and pricing.
- Coordinate with marketing to support the recruitment and retention of CTA members. Support outreach to members and prospects promoting CTA member benefits and involvement.
- Update web site content as needed and directed by Membership Development staff.
- Work closely with other CTA departments to identify new membership opportunities and to help other departments meet their goals. Evaluate new member benefits & services and determine advantages. Coordinate member recruitment presence for key events like CES and other industry events. Identify new events and opportunities for CTA member recruitment. Meet and/or exceed assigned membership department recruitment and retention goals.
- Coordinate the development team's membership leads using an online database’s reporting and tracking tools. Expand the database and tracking tool through in-depth industry research.
- Serve as a liaison to the CTA Communications and Social Media teams and develop new ways to promote CTA member companies through these vehicles.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all CTA benefits and initiatives and communicate them effectively to educate prospects and new members about joining and getting involved.
- Serve as the liaison to internal CTA departments for needs relating to recruitment and retention.
- Update systems and accurately enter data.
- Perform other duties as required by business needs.
Work Experience:
- 0-2 years' experience with association membership recruitment, corporate sales or customer service preferred.
- Previous experience in marketing, sales or technology industry preferred.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications or related field preferred or commensurate experience.
Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, change oriented environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, be customer/team oriented and can work with all staff levels. Must have a can-do, positive attitude.
- Database and lead tracking software experience preferred.
- Must be able to work independently.
Additional Information:
- Travel to CES required.
