Fiberglass Boat Finisher
Contender Boats is currently seeking Fiberglass Boat Finisher for both Homestead. This position is responsible for the final finish of our boats and prepping them for dealer pickup.
Job Duties:
- Thoroughly cleaning interior/exterior of boats.
- Use buffers and polishers to properly detail surfaces.
- Knowledge of proper products such as cleaners for various surfaces, degreasers, and waxes.
- Repair defective areas, smooth rough edges/areas by using appropriate hand and power tools using correct techniques to achieve desired level of finish.
- Prepare fiberglass parts and gelcoat finish areas for repair.
- Shape and smooth edges to match contours.
- Mix gelcoat catalyst and spray or brush to match colors and surface.
- Sand/wet sand/buff and polish gelcoat finishes to achieve desired level of finish.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast paced and every changing setting.
- Eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to work independently at times, making sound decisions regarding course of action.
- Keen understanding of personal limitations with the ability to ask for guidance when needed.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, pull, push, reach, kneel, stand, and grasp.
- Ability to lift 50-lbs.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
