Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Status: Full-time
Job Description: Acting under the supervision of the lead analyst, this position performs both routine and specialized sample preparation and analysis. The Lab Technician performs routine analyses in accordance with analytical methodologies and CTL's standard operating procedures. Routine analysis can include utilizing calorimeters, high temperature ovens, carbon-hydorgen-sulfur-nitrogen anlayzers, spectrophotometers, mercury analyzers, Ion Chromatographs, basic wet chemistry and other specialized laboratory equipment. Lab techs assist the Lead Analyst and Technical Director in the development of specialized testing protocols. Perform sample analysis in a timely fashion, meeting any applicable analytical holding times and project due dates. Keep accurate documentation on all sample data and analytical conditions under which analysis was performed. Perform and document daily calibration checks. Perform and document routine equipment maintenance. Notify supervisor regarding instrument, analysis and data issues. Effectively communicate with employees in all work areas regarding the status of samples and projects.
Education Requirements: Minimum high school diploma. Degree in chemisty or related field preferred but not required.
