Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport patients/consumers to and from appointments and activities
- Monitor client safety and behavior during transport
- Communicate clearly with scheduling staff and care teams regarding transport times and outcomes
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance issues promptly
- Adjust routes/schedules as needed based on client needs and team direction
- Support and promote client rights, dignity, and choice
- Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA/confidentiality guidelines
- Maintain accurate transport logs and documentation
Occupational Certification/Licenses:
- Valid and unrestricted NC driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass background and driving record checks
- Must be drug-free and able to pass applicable screenings
- Strong communication, reasoning, and interpersonal skills
- Physically able to sit, stand, walk, and lift medium to heavy objects as needed
- Experience coordinating transport schedules
- Familiarity with working in health or human services settings
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health needs
- Field-based role with transport in community and home environments
- Exposure to varying home conditions, weather, and occasional health-related risks
- Travel between sites and training locations required
