About Control Devices:
Control Devices (CD) is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality, flow control valves sold into a broad range of end markets. CD prides itself in the ability to design, innovate and manufacture flow control valves for custom applications. Offering a line of standard products that has grown over the years, CD is based in Fenton, MO with two site operations; our products are sold on a global basis to OEMs, distributors, and end users. Control Devices is owned by HBM Holdings, an investment and management firm based in St. Louis that acquires and supports the growth of middle-market industrial manufacturing businesses.
Control Devices acquired Dry Link in April 2021. It is adding resources to grow this business.
About Dry Link:
With modest resources and no sales force or proactive marketing, Dry Link's previous Owners have succeeded in bulk-chemical applications, where end users were previously unaware of highly engineered solutions. Dry Link competes on the basis of ease of use, reliability, and safety/cleanliness. Dry Link's innovations include materials (e.g., Alloy 20 and Hastelloy C for highly corrosive applications) and remote-position indication for RFID use.
Dry Link has identified opportunities in the food and pharmaceutical markets, particularly powder applications. Management believes that existing solutions in these markets underserve end users, especially regarding ease-of-use. Couplings are used in fluid-transfer applications where fluid loss upon disconnection is prohibitive - typically because of environmental regulations, worker safety, the high value of lost fluid, and/or cleanliness.
