What are the responsibilities and job description for the Basic Fundamental Support Instructor II Swim Testers / Lifeguard position at Controlled Force?
Overview:
To support the Navy Master-at-Arms training program, we seek dedicated individuals to serve as Swim Testers, Lifeguards, and CPR Instructors at NTTC Lackland AFB, TX. In this role, you will conduct swim tests and provide essential water safety instruction. Candidates must meet rigorous technical and professional standards and possess the necessary certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-test administrative screenings and safety checks in accordance with Navy guidelines.
- Administer the Navy Second Class Swimmer test and grade students based on established criteria.
- Coordinate with administrative staff to document test results accurately.
- Interface with NTTC Lackland and USAF/Joint Base San Antonio staff to coordinate pool usage.
- Assist in delivering CPR training and other non-weapons-based training modules.
- Support MA Class A training after acquiring appropriate qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Possess one of the following instructor qualifications:
- Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) or military equivalent
- Academic credentialing (teacher/professor)
- Instructor training via academic institution
- Hold a current Navy NEC 9502/805A (Instructor) or equivalent.
- Lifeguard certification from recognized programs like the American Red Cross, YMCA, or military qualifications.
- Current Tier 2 Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) certification.
- Current CPR certification and CPR Instructor Certification.
- Familiarity with military environments and terminology, including Navy rank structure and shipboard/installation configurations.
- Proficiency in basic and advanced training techniques and instructional technology applications.
Additional Requirements:
- Maintain personal standards of technical and professional competence equivalent to that of Department of the Navy personnel.
- Uphold high morale and motivation among students and instructional personnel.
- Stay current with all required certifications, ensuring they do not expire during duty periods.
- Ability to perform lifeguard duties during swim testing and maintain a safe testing environment.
Note on Swim Tester Qualifications:
Candidates with specific Navy NEC qualifications or related certifications may need to attend the Navy Swim Tester Course (A-012-0015) to ensure currency.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- GED/HS Diploma
