What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Coordinator position at Conway Regional?
POSITION SUMMARY:
In an effort to maintain accreditation through the MBSAQIP, Conway Regional is seeking an individual to fill the role of Bariatric Coordinator. The position of Bariatric Coordinator supports the growth and development of the Bariatric service line. Individuals in this position serve as the primary contact for patients undergoing the bariatric procedure, both pre- and post- operation. Responsibilities include confirming insurance coverage for patients, coordinating monthly seminars and support group activities, working with Physicians in the Conway Regional Surgical Associates clinic to ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards, and conducting Bariatric Surgery consults with an emphasis on dietary requirements. In addition, the Bariatric Coordinator will work closely with the Wellness and Diabetes Education team to improve employee health outcomes through coaching, as well as teach Diabetes Self-Management Education as needed. The employee must be a role-model for healthy behavior and lifestyle choices while acting as a public ambassador for CRHS and wellness.
Qualifications
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed professional highly preferred
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a health related field
- Experience in health behavior change/health coaching/health education
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, some late evenings and weekends
