MAIN FUNCTION:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting providers and nursing staff in the delivery of adult and pediatric nursing care. The Medical Assistant provides care in a professional manner in a demanding clinical environment.

This position reports to Practice Manager and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification required. Cooley Dickinson Medical Group Medical Assistants hired prior to 9/1/09 are grandfathered into their current position without being required to have a Medical Assistant certification
  • CPR certification from a program approved by the American Heart Association required
  • One (1) year technical/vocational training school program or one (1) to three (3) years experience as a medical assistant preferred
