Varying classes to fulfill group exercise schedule
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Instruct with a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and capabilities.
• Teach assigned classes on time and take ownership for covering classes with an appropriate substitute when absent.
• Prepare fitness space for the class and restore space to its original state after teaching.
• Assist Fitness Manager in administering daily department responsibilities including coordinating class and studio schedules, receiving and responding to member feedback, collecting and analyzing class metrics, verification of Group Exercise teammate certifications and assisting Group Exercise teammates in locating substitutes when needed.
• Proactively communicate schedule changes and class cancellations to Fitness Manager as well as members through various mediums.
• Clean and organize studio after each group class.
• Maintains a positive attitude and teamwork approach.
• Adheres to the Cooper Purpose and its Core Values.
• Motivate members to continue to consistently attend group fitness classes.
• Comply with all Cooper and Client policies
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Professional group fitness certification (ACSM, ACE, Cooper, NASM, or similar)
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
- At least six months teaching in a group exercise format
- Certified to teach spin
