Responsible for directing and coordinating activities of personnel engaged in maintenance, repair, and installation of automated process manufacturing equipment, machines, tools, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems. Responsible for oversight of all aspects of system operation, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems related to the efficient and effective operation of a large manufacturing ( 99M) complex.

Job Title
Sr Manager Maintenance
Responsible for directing and coordinating activities of personnel engaged in maintenance, repair, and installation of automated process manufacturing equipment, machines, tools, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems. Responsible for oversight of all aspects of system operation, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems related to the efficient and effective operation of a large manufacturing ( 99M) complex.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Review job orders to determine work priorities; schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Support construction, equipment installation, start up, commissioning, and validation activities.
- Design and supervise the installation of automated process control systems. Maintain and support improvement in all automated process manufacturing systems.
- Participate in major capital projects by coordinating with design teams, equipment manufacturers, and user requirements.
- Support training and instruction to production operators in the use of new automated systems.
- Increase productivity of operating equipment with a preventative approach to maintenance, including using a mean-time-to-failure data base, proactive upkeep, and shifting a portion of the related activities to operators.
- Minimize emergency/unscheduled maintenance, improve production planning, customer service, and job satisfaction.
- Expand basic maintenance skills to all levels of the organization with emphasis on cleaner workspaces and equipment upkeep.
- Regular maintenance and replacement of worn parts, minimize unplanned maintenance events.
- Identify critical or long lead time spares and have them in inventory to reduce downtime and higher costs for rush orders.
- Lead the transition to operator ownership of machines and process (including safety).
- Utilize a systematic, structured approach to methodically advance from problem identification to solution in the least amount of time.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 10-15 years related work experience.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills, Tools & Abilities:
- 6S
- Ability to develop maintenance schedules & management systems. Apriso (future Manufacturing Execution system).
- SPC knowledge related to equipment performance, machine learning, and Operational Excellence (OpX) tools.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail, as well as excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions.
