Copeland (formerly Emerson) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven entry-level Design Engineer to join our Commercial/Residential Air Conditioning group in Sidney, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for developing design concepts, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, as well as performing analysis to qualify the designs directed by senior engineers. This position is open to recent mechanical engineering graduates who are eager to contribute to our team.

Copeland (formerly Emerson) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven entry-level Design Engineer to join our Commercial/Residential Air Conditioning group in Sidney, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for developing design concepts, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, as well as performing analysis to qualify the designs directed by senior engineers. This position is open to recent mechanical engineering graduates who are eager to contribute to our team.
Responsibilities
- Generate innovative design concepts that meet the specifications for competitive product development.
- Utilize engineering principles and mechanical science to perform calculations and define design parameters.
- Create 3D part and assembly models using NX, adhering to Copeland's design standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to conduct analysis and simulations to validate design performance.
- Develop accurate 2D product drawings, applying specifications such as dimension tolerance, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and surface finishes, in compliance with ASME and other relevant drawing standards.
- Effectively present designs and communicate design solutions to various stakeholders, including suppliers, Project Engineering, Procurement, Advanced Manufacturing, Scroll Machining, Reliability, Quality, and plant teams.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Strong desire to learn and proven ability to quickly acquire new knowledge.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
- Previous experience through co-op programs, internships, or university projects focused on mechanical design
- 2 years of experience in design engineering or a related field.
- Master's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field.
